Garmin Map 76CSx GPS units are available in the Map & Imagery Library for checkout to University of Florida students, staff, and faculty. These units may be used for data collection, field research, orienteering, and geocaching. Please note that these units do not have navigational software and are not to be used for dashboard navigation in a vehicle.

Circulation Policies

Circulation period is 7 days.
Check out and return must occur at the Map & Imagery Library circulation desk during business hours.
All materials (gps unit, bag, quick start guide, USB cable, microSD card, 2AA alkaline batteries) must be returned by the due date or fines and fees will be assessed.

Fines and Fees:

~$10 per DAY overdue charge, maximum $100 overdue at which time the item is considered LOST.
~$35 non-refundable replacement processing fine per item.
~$250 replacement fee if item is damaged or considered LOST.

At no time may the Micro-SD Card be removed or modified in any way.
All data is erased after each use, so be sure to download data before returning.
Instructors who want to check out GPS units for a class should request them at least two weeks in advance by contacting the Map & Imagery Library.

-We suggest that you carry 2 extra AA batteries when operating in field conditions for backup.
